About Chris:

Chris Hanson is an English professional golfer renowned for his extensive career on the DP World Tour (formerly European Tour), his golf coaching throughout the UK and trips worldwide, corporate golf events, player manager at IGNIS Management and his role as the co-founder of the 2020protour.​

DP World Tour Career:

Born on August 5, 1985, in Harrogate, England, Chris Hanson turned professional in 2006. Over his career, he accumulated 94 appearances on the DP World Tour, including notable events like The Open Championship. His most distinguished performance was a tie for sixth place at the 2018 Omega Dubai Desert Classic.  In 2024, at age 39, Hanson participated in the DP World Tour Qualifying School at Huddersfield Golf Club, aiming to regain his tour status and gained back status on the Hotel Planner Tour for the 2025 season.

Coaching and Corporate Golf Events:

Transitioning from competitive play, Hanson embraced golf coaching and currently offers lessons across three venues in West Yorkshire: Longley Park, Waterton Park, and Woodlands Driving Range. His coaching philosophy is informed by his tour experience and insights from esteemed coaches.  Beyond coaching, Hanson organises corporate golf days and trips worldwide, drawing on his expertise to create engaging events for businesses and clients.

Founder of the 2020protour:

In late 2019, Hanson co-founded the 2020protour alongside Adam Walker. This tour is distinguished as a truly inclusive platform, welcoming both male and female professional and elite amateur golfers. The 2020protour emphasises putting the players first, offering affordable playing opportunities with minimal expenses.  The tour also features The Amateur League, formerly known as the #TourExperience.  Notably, the 2020protour has garnered positive feedback for its commitment to gender equality, with many female golfers competing over the last 6 seasons.

Through his multifaceted involvement in professional golf, coaching, event organisation, and tour management, Chris Hanson continues to make significant contributions to the sport, fostering inclusivity and supporting golfers at all levels.​
